Desires drive wants which in turn results in cravings.
Examing what you are desiring. You have to get to the source, treating the symptoms is not the answer.
Want to know my biggest discovery?
Giving up refined sugar made all the difference. Cravings stopped, The addiction was broken and the energy level soared!
I still have desserts which I make myself so I know how much and what type of sweetener goes into it.
The biggest revelation however is NOT having the cravings.
When I gave up refined sugar I knew it would take some effort and commitment. You don’t have to believe me, but before you discount this idea, give it a try.
For 21 days – do not have anything containing sugar (this includes condiments and sauces) if you have a sweet craving, reach for dates, or fresh fruits (I don’t recommend dry fruits because they are often sweetened with sugar).
As you do this this exercise, observe the following:
- What happened to any body rash or itching you were experiencing?
- What is your energy level like over the 21 days?
- What changes do you notice if you were experiencing headaches often?
- What changes if any do you notice with your moods?
Never again will you have to ask yourself how to succeed with a gluten and dairy free lifestyle.
The healthy positive changes in your body will be motivation enough to stay on the past, commit to your goals and life a happy, joyful, pain free life!
Would you believe giving up gluten and dairy gave me back my mobility?
Believe it! You’ve been following me for a while you will now I was forced to walk away from a blissful, blossoming career in the beauty industry. Started my own training programs offering technical skills to peers along side a flourishing clientele base.
That all came to a screeching halt. I woke up one morning and just knew I couldn’t do it anymore. The physical abuse on my body and the lack of meals was taking it’s toll.
A Tough Decision
Thankfully I was smart enough to listen to my body and observe the signs.
A few months after I gave up my business completely including the clientele, I had a crazy experience where (without any obvious injury) I could not walk, stand or sit without excruciating pain in one knee and hip. Several x-rays, ultra-sounds, MRI’s and no diagnosis of the cause of my pain. Nothing fractured, nothing broken, no falls, no physical injury yet unbelievable pain and zero mobility.
The helplessness of not being able to dress myself or take a shower without help or sleep in my own bed caused me to look for answers in unconventional places.
Knowing that I’m usually eating healthier meals, my darling friend Isabelle brought me a book which talked about eliminating gluten to heal wounds and manage inflammation.
At this point I had nothing to lose, I decided to give the gluten and dairy free lifestyle a try. Mind you, it’s now six week of being confined to a couch, waiting for someone to make me a cup of tea – unable to do anything for myself other than feed my brain with mediations and read.
While I wasn’t regularly having a lot of gluten foods I decided to give it all up, one hundred percent. A brilliant decision!
Within three weeks of giving up gluten I laid the crutches up again the wall and was able to use my own two feet with the help of the kitchen island to get to the kettle to make a cup of tea for myself.
The exhilaration I felt knowing that I can have the freedom of movement again was beyond belief. I’ve never looked back.
My gluten and dairy free lifestyle has become part of my very being. You see I no longer ask how to succeed with a gluten and dairy free lifestyle.
It is a lifestyle that embodies my love for clean ingredients, wholesome foods and the joy of experimenting to create all my favourite foods completely gluten and dairy free.
Additionally, I do not consume night shades, soy, corn, yeast and refined sugar.
Life is good! It’s a privilege waking up full of energy and ready to tackle my day.
Here’s to better healthy!
